Reviews

The download was instant and included everything that was said. I didn't have any problems printing the pattern out or taping it together. However, it would have been helpful to know the yardage before I bought the pattern - the dress takes 5 1/2 yards of fabric, plus fabric for lining. Part of the reason it takes so much fabric is how the skirt is cut, but it works really well and drapes beautifully when cut this way. The pattern markings are not what I am used to (no marking for cutting on the fold) but are fine if you just read everything. I did have trouble understanding how the sleeves went together but it might be because I've never made sleeves like this before - I ended up modifying them anyway since my daughter didn't want the elastic at the bottom. The dress turned out well and was not that hard to make.

I was a little intimidated by this one but the instructions and the pattern are well laid out and easy to follow.

Thanks you very very much

The dress is cute, and the pattern itself is well made. The sizing is pretty consistent with store-bought patterns, which is to say that it is small. I am a size 14-16 normally and I made the size 20. The pattern/cutting pieces are nice, they print and assemble easily, however the instructions are unclear, have spelling errors and do not accurately list the materials. There is no pattern piece for the ruffle, so if you don't have a cutting mat, that part will be very difficult. The bias tape isn't listed in the materials. She uses the word interfacing, for what I assume she means lining (since interfacing is never mentioned in the instructions). And the sleeves have a raw edge according to the instructions, so you will need to either correct that or add bias tape. Not for beginners at sewing.
